It's a Mickey's Clubhouse birthday party!! Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog!! It's such a joy to see our friends and their growing families and especially when we get to create a sweet party for their little ones. I got the special treat this past summer to design some party details for little Charlotte Belle's 2nd birthday party. We wanted to focus on the fun and bright dessert display to showcase Charlie's birthday cake that was made with lots of love by one of her aunties who owns Cafe 86 (which if you have not visited one of their 2 cafes, you NEED to go soon!!) . The dessert table was inspired by Mickey's Clubhouse landscape that you see during their opening credits. Her spread was full of sweet treats from macarons, mini bundt cakes, dessert shooters and 2 birthday cakes. One of my favorite details of Charlie's party is her laser cut name done by one of our favorite people, Tammy from Letters To You. {birthdays | confetti themed birthday for olivia's 2nd | rowland heights}

This summer Olivia turned two. Olivia is such a bright little one that just lights up our lives everyday. She is so fun, brave, spunky at times, adorable and playful. Her smile just melts my heart and her mood is infectious. Snuggling with her in her bed and playing in her kitchen are just some of my favorite things I love doing with her but most of all, I love watching her talk about pirates, Legos and sharks with her Ninong Ed. Coming from a family where I love yous where not thrown around very frequently, I make sure to tell her every time I see her that I love her. Hearing her say "love you too or I love you" just makes my grateful heart smile.  

 

Back to her birthday party, we decided to celebrate Olivia's 2nd at Chubby Cheek Café in Rowland Heights. Chubby Cheek is a modern café & playground that is a perfect venue for parties like such since they have an indoor play area for the little ones and yummy food for everyone to enjoy. 

 

Some of our favorites from Olivia's confetti inspired celebration include:

 

- the colorful and scrumptious dessert table that included her birthday cake and cupcakes from Cakes by Tricia Faye, mini bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes, mini donuts from Krispy Kreme and French macarons from PM Macarons.

- the cupcake liner garlands that has over 500 cupcake liners

- the awesome jovial chalkboard signages from Yellow & Lace

- Olivia's initial in marquee letters

{a week of features}

Last week was a week full of features for our Premier Soirees team. Two of our special events - both were first birthday celebrations were featured in Kara's Party Ideas and The Little Umbrella. I'm so excited to share with all of you the features but before I do, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients who have entrusted in us to make their weddings and special events happen. It truly means the world to us that you trust our team with such special times for you and your families. We love all of our PS families and brides and grooms.

{birthdays | amber's french inspired 16th birthday celebration | pomona}

During the early part of 2014, I was very fortunate to have spent a lot of quality time with some special families who were planning different birthday celebrations for their loved ones in the summer. Connie and her family was one of those families that I really enjoyed working with in preparation for Amber's french inspired 16th birthday celebration. Connie wanted to to make sure to take time and celebrate Amber with all of their family and friends in tow.

The backdrop for this fun event was at the Mountain Meadows Golf Club in Pomona and it's lush grounds make the perfect background for photos with Amber and her family. We created tablescapes for each of the guests' tables that included a small floral arrangements, table names, white lanterns and candles. For the table names, we asked Connie to choose words that would suit Amber best - intelligent, beautiful, creative were a few of the ones we translated in french.

Some of our favorites from Amber’s party included:

- The almost 20 foot dessert station filled with over a dozen different mini desserts from Merengue Bakery and 16 of Amber's favorite candy.
- Mini dainty favor boxes filled with sour patch watermelon candies (the birthday girl's favorite)
- The ribbon garland that served as the backdrop for our yummy dessert station
- Table centerpieces that included roses, ranunculus and dahlias.

Thank you again to Connie and Amber for choosing us to be a part of this special event and for the trust they gave us to create a vision for Amber's party.
